Hey, y'all, sorry if this is on the wrong forum; plumbing is as close to climate as I could find here.
As the name suggests, I have an attic, which is a great living space, except that it gets very hot in the summer. One ventilation from the air conditioner in the house does nothing. It has a huge front window, but it would be expensive and ugly to insert a window block.
However, there is a side crawl space through which a 4-inch hose with a dryer vent runs from the vent in the ceiling of the bathroom on the first floor, about ten feet away, and exits to the outside. It would be quite easy to install a window block in the wall between the attic and the utility room and attach its exhaust hose to the bathroom vent.
Will it be legal? Some manufacturers I've researched have cautioned against attaching window blocks to dryer vents, mainly because the exhaust hoses for air conditioners are 6 inches. Just wondering if anyone has done something like this in practice.
Thanks!

Personally, I would choose a slim Jim device, basically it is a compressor that is installed outside, and the head can be mounted on the wall inside the attic, perhaps this is a better option and more powerful.

hello. I would advise you to buy a compact air conditioner specifically for the attic. It seems that they have even come up with wireless ones(but I don't really understand this plan. I'm more on the usual, wired ones. But not the point. What tips I could give you on taking care of the air conditioner in the attic... Hmm-m-m-m-m. There are a couple. To begin with, do not leave it on-duty turned on. This can lead to a breakdown. Second. Make sure that it does not get clogged. And air conditioners can do it. And then you'll have to suffer in the heat again. Or contact the repair services. If the air conditioner still breaks, then I advise you to contact only experts in their field.
