For a long time, winter has always weighed heavily on my diet, mostly due to inactivity.
For the past four years, I've been going to the gym to use their cardio, and it's worked well. The gyms are closed now, and I don't know if I'll feel comfortable going back anyway. Let's face it, gyms are a disease. It has always been so, it will always be so.
My home gym is just fine, but I gain weight when I just work with free weights. Sure, the muscle mass increases, but I don't like the heavier bodyweight. I'm more of a quarterback than a quarterback.
The last month has been traumatic for my income plan due to federal fees, so I eat for comfort. Mostly healthy enough, but too much.
I missed keeping a journal and missed a lot of things when I was doing it. This is starting to sound like a confession.
Any wise advice is much appreciated.

Your problem is similar to what I've had. Last year I started gaining weight and had no motivation whatsoever. Now I try to walk 10k steps every day. It seems much, but it's actually a walk to the farther store and back home. Whenever I felt sad, sleepy or angry I sarted eating. Those chocolates and chips... Fasting is the solution! I recommend the 6-18 fasting. It's easy and effective. The more you fast, the less you want to eat. Unfortunately, a yesterday I got the result from the covid test and it's positive. Therefore, I can't follow my routine. But I guarantee you it's effective. Stick to the plan and everything will be alright.
