I downloaded it the same way i did for 1.8.9 and 1.16.1, and those both work fine, so I'm not sure if this is a Mac-specific issue. When I try to open forge 1.12.2, it'll show that Minecraft has launched in the dock, but I can't actually see the window. I end up having to force quit Minecraft with task manager. Does anyone know why this is happening?

You need to wait for a patch or fix, but the better option is to change your device to a normal one. I know that people hate Windows, but you don't have such issues running servers. Mac is a disaster in this case. I remember that I was running a pretty successful prison mine server that had online up to 50 people. But unfortunately, I had to sell it to another guy. Now I see on minecraft.buzz that this server already has 100+ players online. It's a nice result, so I can be proud of myself too.
