I bought 20 acres of land from my neighbors this summer and plan to rent a JD 450 to clear some trails and create some open space. The plot is mainly covered with forest with trees aged 30-50 years, a large number of honey nipples and vines. It is mostly steep, from the creek to the top it rises 600 feet in 1/4 mile. Three different ridge lines.
Does anyone have some tips for using the 450. My neighbor says that he will help. Or advice on preparing the site for cutting, slope markers for removing stumps/trees, bulldozing?
My experience is limited to the side turn and 50 hp Kubota.

Your bulldozer is pretty powerful!
I would love to have a machine like this!
Dealing with heavy machinery can be really complicated. I've recently started learning about maneuvering them and I am actually trying to learn things about the mechanic part as well. A friend of mine learned to maneuver a máy xúc mini and I am constantly asking him different things. I am only used to drive a car and switching to another type of vehicle it's a challenge that I am willing to take. I am grateful for having friends who have different licenses related to all kinds of vehicles and I am able to learn from them
