After achieving my 2017 resolution by becoming AWS all 5/5 certified. I have setup new challenges for me in 2018 to become big data and AI/ML, expert.

Things are on right track, Now I am working as Big Data SME for AWS customers and passed my AWS Certified Big Data Specialty exam on Jun-2018. My Machine Learning University course started with very deep insight on Machine learning, which will be expected to continue for a year with rigorous learning in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning area.

Here is my lesson learn for AWS Certified Big Data - Specialty exam:

Bar is very high as most of the question were scenario based and long format . I found questions related to Kinesis and Dynamo DB pretty complex . For Kinesis , you will get very confusing options between Kinesis stream and Kinesis firehose , so make sure to dive deep on that to know clear difference between them with use cases. For Dynamo DB , make sure to get very deep understanding on best practice to design LSI/GSI and table partition . EMR and Hadoop questions has medium complexity and they are not only limited to AWS, but addressing other Hadoop eco-system open source technologies as well. Machine Learning and Redshift questions were relatively easy , so that is scoring point. Only one question from QuickSight. All security-related questions were very tricky and storage use cases were relatively easy .

I didn't leverage that, but you can get extra 30 minute time by using following steps , specially if English is not your native language:

From the top navigation, click Upcoming Exams
On the right, click the Request Exam Accommodations button
Click the Request Accommodation button
Select ESL +30 Minutes from the accommodation dropdown
Click Create

ACloudGuru BigData Specialty Course - aCloudGuru has prepare very detail course material by covering all Hadoop and big data technology in addition to Redshift and Dynamo DB.

Linux Academy BigData Specialty Course - For any pro certification , I can not take chance so going to take complete course from Linux Academy , as they have good amount of labs and lots of exam notes with study material which save lots of time. I was expecting more details on Hadoop eco-system but it is not there in this course. Any case, I love their ready to use exam notes , labs, flash card and mobile app for offline reading so many benefit comes along. You can subscribe to Linux Academy by clicking here .
