If you have a kindle, I think it is not necessary, but if you don't, it is a very good price. I also was struggling at the start with what kindle to buy because there are different types of it. I didn't know how it works and how to get internet on kindle fire without wifi. I also thought that you can read only when you are connected to the internet. After I bought it I understood that it is very comfortable to use e-books, because it economies your space in the house and all you have to do is just download the book you want to read on the gadget and you can read where you want, even without internet.
