<p>Azmin: Msia, flooded with foreign workers, should switch to automation<br>NATION<br>Saturday, July 11, 20201: 50 pm MYT<br>By Sira Habibu<br><br>Kuala Lumpur: Malaysia has been flooded with five million foreign workers, including without permission, due to an over-reliance on hard labor, says Senior Minister Datuk Seri Azmin Ali.<br><br>The Minister of International Trade and Industry said the Covid-19 pandemic has prompted a need for industry players to quickly switch to automation and robotics to reduce reliance on a massive foreign workforce.<br><br><br>"This is one of the aspects that will be highlighted in the 12th Malaysian Plan," he said on Saturday (July 11) after the opening of the Azmid Technical College in Kampung Nakhod here.<br><br>Earlier in his speech, Azmin announced the allocation of rm2mil to sponsor 100 students to take technical courses at Azmida.<br><br><br>"In order to attract high-tech investment, we must focus on developing human capital to meet the requirements of the industry," he said.<br><br>He said that the College Asmida also teaches students from poor families, orphans and the disabled.<br><br>Covid-19 has forced some of the M40 (middle income) group into the B40 (low income) category, he added.<br><br>"And those in B40 are worse off," he said.<br><br>He praised learning centers such as Azmid College for giving students from poor families the opportunity to acquire high skills and enjoy a better life.<br><br>He called on technical colleges to provide courses in automation, chemistry, casting and stamping, in particular to meet the needs of new industries.<br><br>He also said that 1,185 jobs were opened in 105 companies in 16 sectors, including transport and textiles<br></p>

Now everything is moving to automation. Look around, all human work is being replaced by robot work. I am engaged in the sale of apartments and often meet with similar situations. Automatic vacuum cleaners, refrigerators that are smarter than the owners themselves, computers and damn toilets. Now more and more often appear and become fashionable so-called smart homes that are fully automated.
