Credit score? - burdock23 - 10-08-2021
What is a good enough credit rating?
I was on the board of directors with honor. The irony is that I once had over 800 points on a loan, but at that time I had quite a lot of debt. It must have been the right combination of debts. I've just finally paid off a bunch of debts, I still have something left. My credit score wasn't very good because of all the debts, but it just went up 100 points and is now in the 740s. I think this is enough in terms of not having to worry about the right set of credits to increase it?
I just don't know how much debt affects people in terms of car insurance and other things. I won't be buying a house or anything anytime soon, so that part doesn't matter.
I admit that I am really worried about accidentally missing a payment and drastically cutting it, so I check my payments a couple of times a month.
I've also read "Total Amount of Money" and I know Dave Ramsey says don't even think about credit scores, but I just feel like you almost need to have a general idea about it, and I've read a lot about credit karma and fico credit tips, but I trust this form more. Some bulletin boards seem obsessed with the fact that there are more than 800 of them. I also saw someone who went bankrupt five years ago, and her credit score was above 800, and I've never had that, and my credit score is not 800, so I don't even know how to get higher? Should I leave some balances on credit? Don't use it at all? Does it even matter?
Thank you all!

RE: Credit score? - TimInce - 10-09-2021
I think it mostly depends on your local bank requirements.

RE: Credit score? - WendyParr - 10-09-2021 oh, it's hard to say what credit score is the best. The higher is the credit score, the better are your chances to get a good secured loan. But I managed to get a mortgage with only a 640 credit score which is considered pretty average in the UK. I don't know where are you from, probably the US, but I think you can get a good loan with the help of a qualified specialist. To get a mortgage here I firstly contacted several specialists, including those from the Mortgage Advice Leicester which helped a lot with choosing a financial organization and documents. I think you can't get a good loan without a specialist these days. |
