Golf is one of my main hobbies and I can say that after a long time of practice I'm a rather good amateur player in it
But from my own experience I can say that this sport is really not for everybody so start with learning and practising on special courses and don't hurry up to buy a new expensive set for it because many newbies lose an interest for it in the middle of their learning time.
Considering that getiing for the beginner's set a driver, a putter and a couple of irons/woods or wedges https://golfclubguru.net/top-5-best-wedges-nowadays/ will be definetely enough for you. The beginner's items are also usually cheaper than the ones for more experienced players and you can get the used set too, it's a popular practice among many players.
