I recently visited the Western Cape region of South Africa and took some pictures of road signs.
First, an old-style highway distance sign with a separate route shield and FHWA type. I've seen a few of these highways in the Western Cape, but they're pretty rare in 2019. New style of road distance sign without shielding with DIN type. This is the current standard, and it has almost completely replaced the old signs in the toilet. One destination is not the norm, but both were made on remote sections of highway on the map.

What do you think about it?
