I’d actually start with the smart speaker. For less than $50 you can get an Amazon Echo Dot or a Google Home Mini. Amazon has a larger group of compatible products, but if you have an Android phone and love Google you can use that too. Then get a smart plug for a lamp or other regular device and connect them to see how easy it is.

At this point, I don't want to use such a technology. I mean, while apps like cellphonetrackapp.net/category/samsung/exist and working perfectly it seems to me that hacking your system won't be a problem. And as far as a care a lot about my security, I don't think that it's a good idea.
Smart Home is really fun and the good thing is that you do not have to do everything in one go. In fact, it’s better to spread things out over time and incrementally add value.
