Issues since latest software update - BiestaGetse - 07-21-2021 Good morning all, new to the world of CNC and this is my first post here. I’m looking for some help. I’ve been running my xxl just fine on an older laptop. I started having issues mostly because the laptop is ancient. I broke down and bought a dedicated desktop computer. I went online and downloaded the latest version of Carbide Create and Motion.

It runs so much smoother and I was pretty excited to get my projects going again. Here’s the problem: I’m using the same files that run flawlessly on my laptop but they are giving me issues on the new PC. I get my zeros all set and when I go to run the program it takes the z axis all the way up and then when it comes down it plunges into the work piece and tries to go all the way through it, regardless of the parameters I have set up. I plug the laptop back into it, works fine on the old software. Am I missing something? Anyone else have any issues with the latest upgrade? ANY help would be VERY much appreciated! RE: Issues since latest software update - MrStuden - 07-21-2021 Maybe you need to create copies of your old files, and then the new PC will perceive them as new? RE: Issues since latest software update - RichardSmithe - 07-21-2021
Try to create several copies, and also check your old files for viruses. I once had a very thick and tenacious TROJAN on an old laptop that took root so deeply that even my photos had viruses. I brought this laptop to work, connected a projector to it. Everyone used it with their flash drives. And then absolutely everyone complained that their home computers were now immersed in viruses. I was terribly ashamed. I formatted my pc several times, but nothing worked. I had to take it to the service. I found it here https://starlabs.com.sg/laptop-repair/. It turned out to be a good idea. Try and take the computer to the service or call them to your home. I'm sure that it's not just about the files, but already in the newest system itself.
RE: Issues since latest software update - MrStuden - 07-21-2021
(07-21-2021, 09:32 PM)RichardSmithe Wrote:

Try to create several copies, and also check your old files for viruses.
